The 2024 Build It Awards are now live, the judges’ shortlist of six incredible homes is in, and votes are now open for the best Self Build Home or Renovation Project 2024.

Self-Build Zone is proud to sponsor this year’s annual Build It Awards, and the ceremony’s countdown on 8th November has begun! In preparation for the event, Build It Magazine’s editorial team and judges have carefully reviewed all the readers’ homes featured in the magazine over the past year. They’ve narrowed it down to six outstanding contenders, each vying for the title of Build It’s Best Self Build or Renovation Project 2024.

This year’s finalists showcase what’s possible when homeowners commit to creating their dream homes, from charming timber and oak self-builds to remarkable renovations and thoughtful period restorations. The selection spans a wide range of budgets, designs, and styles, with homes chosen from across the country.

On this page, you’ll find an overview of each project, highlighting their key achievements. For more details, click the buttons under each project to explore their full stories and gain deeper insight into the creative process behind every scheme.

Voting is now open! and will close at 5pm on 15th October. The winner will be revealed at the Awards ceremony on 8th November. Please vote now by clicking the link below to help us determine this year’s champion.
