Self-Build Zone is a recommended provider of self-build insurance and structural warranties for Swedish-heritage, timber-framed house builders, Scandia-Hus.

Scandia-Hus boasts Scandinavian roots, but their show centre is located in Sussex and all their timber frames are manufactured in the UK. The result is the successful combination of all the benefits of advanced Swedish technology, with the best of British architectural style and craftsmanship. Their in-house architectural technicians, 3D designers and project managers work closely together to ensure the finished building is exactly what their customers imagined.

Self-Build Zone has worked with a number of Scandia-Hus clients to provide self-build site insurance cover. Site Insurance is necessary to protect your investment when you’re carrying out a renovation, conversion, extension or new build. Our self build site insurance policies cover the new work, existing structure and rest of the site. It protects against the likes of losses, fire theft, flood, storm damage, vandalism and accidental damage.

Scandia-Hus are passionate about building eco-friendly, sustainable homes for the future. We believe that energy-efficient design is essential in any new property, with benefits for both the homeowner and the environment. Building with timber sourced from sustainable forests is an environmentally-friendly choice; it is renewable and helps to create an air-tight structure. We also have extensive experience in renewable energy technology.

Following a successful open day on March 22, they encourage visitors to their Show Centre in East Sussex to see the high specification and immaculate finish of our timber frame kit homes. There are 3 properties available to view – the Adelia is a contemporary style home, the Oakleigh has a traditional character and the Mulberry is a combination of the two in a chalet bungalow design.
